I just think Apple does not care about small Developers. I also had a problem that somehow my link didnt work although it was there. In the terminal type: which vim Thatll tell you what its running when you type vim. Ps Just to be clear, i appreciate the community for finding and publishing the solution. It will help if MacVim was installed with brew. The proper way to remove a Homebrew package is with the uninstall or remove command.

Solution found, but Apple's solution is not appreciated. How to Uninstall & Remove Homebrew Packages.
